ABSTRACT

Objective To investigate the clinical effect of porcelain fused for metal crown restoration after root canal therapy.Methods Totally 90 patients with pulpitis or periapical periodontitis from December 2013 to December 2015 had their clinical data analyzed,who underwent root canal therapy and were divided equally into an observation group and a control group.The observation group took porcelain endocrowns repair and the control group applied ceramic crown.The two groups were compared on the restoration integrity,edge sealing,residual rate,gum,food impaction and color 3 months,6 months and 1 a after treatment.Results The observation group behaved significantly better than the control group in the edge sealing and restoration integrity (P<0.05).There were significant differences between the residual rates,gum and food impaction in the two groups (P<0.05).Conclusion Porcelain endocrowns repair gains advantages over ceramic crown repair in edge sealing,integrity,gum,food impaction and color after root canal therapy,though its long-term effect needs further investigation.

ABSTRACT

Objective:To compare the compressive strength of porcelain crown with Co-Cr,CAD/CAMpure titanium and CAD/CAM zirconia respectively.Methods:Metal models of simulating crown core of the ideal premolar were manufactured,digital data of the met-al model were obtained by CAD/CAMsystem,the basement crowns of Co-Cr,CAD/CAMpure titanium and CAD/CAMzirconia were respectively made(n =5),size of each crown was kept the same and the spcimens were set as group A,B and C respectively.Then masking porcelain and body porcelain were fired on basement crowns according to the instructions.The thickness of the porcelain was kept the same.All of the porcelain crowns were located on the Instron testing machine,the compression strength force values were measured.Data were statistically analysed by SPSS 1 3.0 software.The bonding surface of basement material and porcelain was observed by SEMafter compressive failure.Results:The compressive strength(N)of group A,B and C was 2 990 ±1 88,2 305 ±1 57,2 1 50 ± 1 31 ,A vs B or C,P 0.05.Conclusion:All the 3 base materials with porcelain crown satisfy the clinical require-ments.The compressive strength of Co-Cr porcelain crown is stronger than that of CAD/CAMpure titanium porcelain crown and CAD/CAMzirconia porcelain crown.

ABSTRACT

Objective:To compare the titanium-porcelain bonding strength between CAD/CAM and cast pure titanium.Methods:Pure titanium samples were prepaired by CAD/CAMand casting respectively and fused with porcelain.The bond strength between tita-nium and porcelain of the samples was measured with three-point test.The titanium-porcelain interface was investigated under scanning electronic microscope(SEM).Results:The bond strength of CAD/CAMpure titanium to porcelain was (35.95 ±3.74)MPa and cast pure titanium to porcelain was (28.37 ±1 .98)MPa(P <0.05).SEMobservation showed that there was thin transition layer between titanium substrate and ceramic in CAD/CAM bond interface,titanium and porcelain combined closely,no obvious pores.However, there was thicker transition layer and small pore in cast pure titanium to porcelain bonding interface.Conclusion:The bonding strength of porcelain to CAD/CAMpure titanium is greater than that of porcelain to casting pure titanium.

ABSTRACT

Objective To compare advantages and disadvantages of ceramic crown and porcelain fused to metal(PFM),provide better rehabilitation ways for patients.Methods 258 porcelains were,divided into two groups:ceramic crown group 98 and metal ceramic crowns group 160,for preparation of abutment,modulus,colorimetric,feed production.Results Follow-up observation for 2 years,the 15 crowns of all appeared the gingival edge coloring with different degree,are PFM,10 patients were not satisfied with the color of restorations.8 repair body porcelain.Conclusion Inner crown metal of PFM is thin and light,with high hardness and compressive strength.It rarely occur deformation since repeated the barbecue at high temperatures,so suitable for large span bridge restoration.Ceramic crown because of no metal structure,good light transmission and light reflecting function,can reproduce the natural teeth translucent depth and color depth,strong sense of hierarchy,suitable for the repair of anterior teeth.

ABSTRACT

Objertive:To search for the measures of improving the effects on aesthetics of front teethmetal-poircelain crown. Method:The causes and mechanisms of different effects on aesthetics of front teethmetalprocelain crowns in 52 cases were analyzed. Resuts:The main causes that influenced aesthetics offront metalporcelain crown were out of color and bad imitation of teeth. Conclusion: Important factors thatimprove the effects on aesthetics of front teeth metal-porcelain crown include the design and the prepara-tion of cervical layer,accurate choice of the color and correct making process.
